Jillian is a licensed mental health counselor (LCMHC) specializing in person-centered therapy and mindfulness-based modalities. She holds a master’s degree in clinical counseling psychology and has worked in private practice for over a decade in both Texas and Idaho before relocating to Vermont in 2022. Her goal is to create a compassionate container for all her clients who are ready to shift old beliefs and address underlying issues for mental and emotional healing.
Jillian is a life-long learner who blends both academic training and wisdom from other cultures. She completed basic courses in mindfulness-based stress-reduction (MBSR) through Penn Medicine, mindful self-compassion training (MSC) through the Institute for Spirituality and Health, is a student of Toltec philosophy through HeatherAsh Amara and The Pyramid Academy, and engages in nature-based internships with various teachers. Most recently she completed a certificate in psychedelic-assisted therapies and research from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). Jillian has worked with diverse and underserved populations in both research and counseling settings. She is willing and able to address the needs of LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC folx and actively seeks to understand and respect the lived experience of all her clients. “I grew up among the pine trees and gulf coast waters of east Texas where I learned how to sail, camp, and cook chili. I have lived and traveled many places before finding my home in northern Vermont where I spend time connecting to the land, hiking, gardening, reading fiction, napping with my animals, and journaling.” |
