Infrared Sauna

Picture
Infrared Sauna uses natural invisible light to create heat that penetrates the body on a deeper level compared to traditional saunas. Infrared heat activates our cells that are responsible for energy production and metabolism which directly causes increased circulation, perspiration, endorphin release, and reduced inflammation. These effects have amazing benefits on our health!

Infrared sauna promotes relaxation, deeper sleep, improved cardiovascular health, improved skin regeneration/anti-aging, immune support, detoxification, improved exercise recovery, and tissue regeneration.

Because the infrared heat is deep penetrating heat the benefits can be achieved at a lower temperature than regular sauna, which makes it accessible to those that cannot tolerate the heat of a regular sauna such as children, elders, and those suffering from auto-immune or chronic health conditions.

Conditions that can be helped by regular infrared sauna use include but are not limited to: detoxification, weight loss, chronic conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, lyme disease, anxiety, depression, skin conditions, high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, dementia, headache, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Let’s discuss detoxification. Detoxification is achieved via elimination through the skin, kidneys, and intestines. The infrared sauna heats up the body, which assists us two ways; it causes sweating, and the release of stored toxins from our fat cells into our blood making the toxins accessible for elimination via the kidneys and intestines given the proper support.

Preparing for sauna: Hydrate! Drink ½ of your body weight in ounces. This helps to flush the kidneys and encourage regular bowel movements.  Fiber! Eat 5 servings every day, such as green leafy veggies, apple, pear, and legumes. This promotes binding of toxins from the blood so that they don’t get reabsorbed and regular bowel movements.

For optimal benefit, it is recommended that you heat up your body to move toxins into the sweat and the blood 2-3 times per week. This can be done with infrared sauna, or discuss additional therapy recommendations with one of us.
